Well, it's not really, but I enjoy making the packaging for photos as much as I enjoy taking them. This is the first box created in my new apartment (WOOT!) since I transferred my crafting supplies there. Planning on making more memories in that apartment and taking more pictures there, too! For now, proof box photos :)

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.

Got these cupcakes and cinnamon bun from Sans Rival. Although I go there for the silvanas and the sizzling beef steak, I didn't know that their cupcakes were also pretty good.
I start my day with a small game of fetch with Pip who is always by the door when I open it. He wakes up early and tries to wake others up either by jumping into bed with them or whining from the floor with those sad puppy eyes of his. A game of fetch usually makes his morning, and after that it's playtime with Kuya Bammy. Kuya Choi, with his arthritic legs, usually just looks on and tries his best to look uninterested. This particular morning the three were all inside and I just could not resist snapping a few shots.
I got an early Christmas gift from Kat, a photographer/graphic designer friend of mine currently based in SG: a new domain name! Couldn't quite believe my ears when she told me that she got me this as an early Christmas gift. With her help, I jumped from a Blogspot subdomain user to having a domain name of my own. I have always wanted to get a domain name of my own, but domains and htmls and the mention of codes and lines of code freak me out and give me a serious case of the hives, so I stayed away. Perhaps this is the Universe's way of telling me that it is finally time to get a domain of my own, and Kat was the person to prod me into taking that important step.
Soooooooooo, welcome to www.joselleamahit.com!!! (still can't believe that I now have a .com after my name. If there's such a thing as a hundred degrees higher than super stoked, that's where I am right now, LOL!)
The holidays is gearing up to be a great one for me, I can feel it! Thanks Kat for such an amazing, wonderful and super thoughtful gift!
Last Friday my friends and I went to my hometown just a few hours away from the city to hand out school supplies to the kids in a small school up in the mountains of Bindoy. It is not far from the town but the way leading up there is a mix of concrete and loose, rocky road. With the help of my brother and an aunt we were able to reach our destination and even managed to sneak in a bit of play time in the rest house kept by an uncle just a few meters from the school. Our arrival was a surprise and the look on the kids' faces as we were walking with our boxes, enough to melt your heart. We handed out everything in 30 minutes, just in time for the kids to start their afternoon classes. Although Grades 3 and 4 already went home since it was homeroom day for them, their parents were there, so we were able to give those students their gifts as well. The kids were so warm and friendly and they immediately lined up when their teachers told them to behave so we can start handing gifts out. The gifts were nothing grand---school supplies like notebooks and pencils, crayons and coloring books for the older kids and colorful toys for the kinder kids. But they were happy so that made us happy.
Gift-giving is an annual thing with my high school friends and although I have not been present when we gave school supplies to other schools in the past years, I was glad that I was a part of this one. I got to go home, I got to see my Lolo after so many months of being away, set foot in the hard rocky soil of Camudlas and breathed fresh mountain air. I missed doing these things but I didn't know how much until we were there. I'm hoping that we'll be able to keep this tradition for the next several years and that we'll be able to give more to more kids.
I've always liked square photos so when I had the chance I had some photos laid out inside a square. I asked the photo store at the mall to print it in glossy paper and here's the result. Pretty cool, eh? I love how the white gives the photo an instant frame. I'm also changing my watermark, this time with a simple leaf. I liked my old watermark and had fun making it, but I always felt that it was too girly for me. I like leaves, they symbolize the earth, simplicity, being grounded, art, and beauty. I also had fun making the watermark using Picmonkey, which is what I used to create my blog header (hence, same leaf!). It's a more cohesive look, and something I can imagine using for years to come. Check it out if you want to create your own watermark too!
Capping this week off with a 3 Frames post. It has been a long time since I did a portrait shoot with an MUA and I can really say that for portraits, engagements and other sessions, having a professional do your face for you will work wonders. I worked with Kim Tan on this shoot and he is probably one of the best MUAs currently working in my city right now. Made me think that for any occasion where there is even the slightest chance that you will be photographed, you should have your face done. What's great about make-up now is that you can have that natural, not-too-made up look and still look gorgeous and Kim does that flawlessly and in record time too! There are other good MUAs out there too, like Barbie Viliran, Tanzy Tristan, among others. If you want to have good make-up done these are the people who can help you look gorgeous for any portrait. :)
And look! It's Friday! Great weekend coming up!

I rarely post anything about what goes on behind my blogging but recently I felt confident enough to do a little tweaking with the HTMLs and the foreign-sounding codes that you can find in any Blogger blog and I thought I can do some changes there without hurting my layout. To cut the long story short, I messed stuff up, LOL! My comments were not appearing and this morning my Facebook LIKE button, which is such an easy way for readers to let me know that they visited, didn't show up. I'm glad online tutorials are always around to help me solve my problems. The links below helped me get my LIKE button back up and running in a matter of minutes and helped me solved my missing comments problem.
Don't you just LOOOVEEEE the Internet? I do! Morning everyone!
