Personal {Remembering Spaces}

And when you see light like this,
trust me,
it’s like a strawberry sundae with sprinkles.”

The Moment It Clicks: Photography Secrets from One of the World's Top Shooters

I don't think I'll ever get tired of taking photos. For someone with a really bad memory, photos help when it comes to remembering places, timelines, events and feelings, sounds and even the smells associated with each experience.

I was looking through my photo folder for 2016 and a flood of memories of us living in our first apartment in Chongqing came rushing back because of all the photos we took there. It was a tiny apartment, not bigger than our house now, and it was just enough for two people. For my first year in a strange new city in another country, it seemed like the perfect apartment: small, easy to clean and cozy in an austere, Japanese-apartment kind of way. Making the best out of that space wasn't hard at all.

2016 has passed and gone. It is funny to be reminiscing like this when 2017 has passed and a whole new year is slowly inching its way into completion. I guess I'm just thankful that we had those times in that space and there are photographs to make the remembering easier to do.

  1. I'm truly enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much
    more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme?

    Exceptional work!
