“I'll live as well, as deeply,
as madly as I can
--until I die.”
Anne Lamott,
Traveling Mercies: Some Thoughts on Faith

I loved shooting in this location. Sometimes I am wary about shooting just about anywhere because maybe people will mind, and people will stop and stare when they see something out of the ordinary is going on. We took photos on a dried-up river bed, and I could not help but imagine how pretty the place must have looked so many years ago, with the river full and strong and tall, stately acacia trees bending over to provide shade over the water. It struck me as funny that there was river sand inside my shoes and the river was still a a long way away. It was a good thing that this place was a few steps away from the road, hidden by a bamboo thicket that opened up to reveal open space dotted by acacia trees.

The trees provided an excellent backdrop for our shoot, especially the fallen branches of acacia with their orange leaves. God surely loves color, I realized, and it's a wonderful thing, color, especially when you see it in the leaves and the branches and even on rocks. Before I start babbling more nonsense, here are Rena's shots.
